History of Cemetery
Woodbine Cemetery & Cremation Gardens has a rich history dating back to 1875 when local farmers and church members constructed the original one-room church, known as the “Little Church,” for worship. In 1951, the main church building was constructed on its current site at 12914 Canova Drive.
The Little Church was relocated to the southwest corner of the cemetery lot in the early 1960s, where it stands today and is used for special occasions and Cemetery office.
The historic cemetery on the property has been in existence for over 100 years, serving the spiritual needs of its congregation and the surrounding community in Coles Magisterial District, Prince William County and City of Manassas.
With its well-maintained grounds, featured gardens, fountains, cremation features, and pathways, the cemetery offers visitors a respectful and peaceful setting. It contains over a thousand markers, including plots for original families such as the Purcells, Cornwells, Fairs, Bibbs, and Keyses.
The Woodbine property boasts four main resources: the Little Church, dating back to circa 1875; the cemetery with burials dating to the late 19th century; the Chapel, constructed in 1953; and the fellowship hall and school, built in 1962.
